Common Rules

The health care allowance has an income cap of €39,000 (2024, single persons), which is lower for partners. Similar to the rent allowance, the amount decreases if this threshold is exceeded. Both fall under the WICR (Work and Income according to Labor Capacity Act), with a joint income calculation.

Advantage: One change notification updates both. A maximum of €131 per month in health care allowance can be received alongside the rent allowance.
