Successfully challenging a WWS exceedance starts with watertight evidence. Make a checklist: 1) Download the official WWS maximum from RVO.nl for your rental year. 2) Note the original and new rent from your rental agreement and termination letters. 3) Calculate the percentage: (new - old rent) / old rent x 100. 4) Keep bank statements of payments. 5) Collect all correspondence with the landlord. Article 7:900 DCC requires that increases be announced in writing and timely (at least 2 months in advance). No announcement? Then it is null and void. Add property details, such as address and WOZ value, to confirm the sector. Use tools from the Rent Committee for simulations. In case of dispute: submit within two months to the committee for the free sector. This evidence leads to annulment and repayment. Stay proactive and document everything to strengthen your position.
